President Aoun Commends the Court of Accounts’ Election to the ARABOSAI Executive Council and Stresses Its Pivotal Role in Safeguarding Public Funds

The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received at the Presidential Palace the President of the Court of Accounts, Judge Mohamad Badran, accompanied by a delegation comprising members of the Court’s Council: the Public Prosecutor at the Court, Judge Fawzi Khamis, and Judges Abdul Reda Nasser, Inaam Al-Boustani, and Nelly Abi Younes.

During the meeting, Judge Badran informed the President of the Republic of the Court of Accounts’ election to the Executive Council of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI). He also noted that the Court is in the process of completing the audit of the State’s accounts despite the difficult circumstances, a step that has directly contributed to restoring order to public finances.

Judge Badran expressed his appreciation for the support granted by the President of the Republic to the Court of Accounts, expressing his hope that the appointment of chamber presidents to the vacant positions would be completed, in order to activate the Court’s supervisory role in safeguarding public funds and enhancing the level of professional performance.

For his part, President Aoun praised the Court’s Arab-level achievement, affirming his full and continued support for strengthening the powers of this long-standing oversight institution in protecting public funds and consolidating the principles of accountability.
